Program development, grant writing and consulting services may be contracted on a per project or ongoing basis, depending on the scope of work requested. The cost of an individual project is based on the estimated number of hours required to complete it. Contracts will include a maximum fee for each project and an approximate time frame for which each project is to be completed. Scope of services, fees, and timelines will be clearly stated in the contract.
Costs per project vary depending on the requirements of each Request For Proposals (RFP) and how much information your agency has readily available. For example, if there is an existing list of RFPs or potential funders/funding opportunities, and current data to demonstrate need or prior program success, it reduces time the process will take. Also, revising and updating existing proposals for resubmission or continued funding often requires less time than researching, developing, and submitting new applications for funding.
Services are billed at $50.00 per hour for grant writing, including researching funding opportunities and providing feedback on rejected proposals or to review pending proposals, and $75.00 per hour for program evaluation and consulting. When meeting clients outside of Onondaga County, mileage is charged based on the IRS mileage rate, with travel time billed at half-rate. Fees cover my time plus direct and indirect expenses such as taxes, insurance, grant database subscription fees, outside services, communication, utilities, printing, local travel, training, equipment, repairs and office supplies. Postage and printing fees for final proposal submission are the responsibility of the Client.
